A Message to Our Community of Parents & Educators

As parents of a Grade 3 and Grade 1 student in Oakville, we’ve seen first-hand the excitement—and the uncertainty—that comes with the arrival of AI in our schools. Our own son began using various AI platforms for research, and it sparked a critical question: Does he know how to verify what he finds?

At Change Ready Institute, we realized that while children are "digital natives," they aren't necessarily "AI-literate." There is a significant gap between knowing how to use a tool and knowing how to audit it, fact-check it, and use it ethically.

We founded Change Ready Junior to bridge that gap. We’ve combined my background in HR Technology and Analytics with Caroline’s expertise in Instructional Design and Curriculum Development to create workshops that empower students in Grades 3–8 to become "AI Detectives"—not just passive users.

We look forward to partnering with your family and your schools.

— Ryan & Caroline

What We Offer

The Core Workshops (Grades 3–8)

Workshop Learning Objectives (Curriculum-Aligned)

1. The AI Detective (Grades 3–5)

  • Verification Skills: Students will apply critical thinking to identify "hallucinations" and factual errors in AI-generated outputs.

  • Source Evaluation: Students will practice comparing AI claims against primary and secondary sources to confirm accuracy.

  • Defining AI: Students will differentiate between human intelligence and algorithmic "prediction" to understand that AI is a tool, not a person.

2. The Bias Hunter (Grades 5–7)

  • Ethical Inquiry: Students will analyze how data sets can reflect human bias and how that bias impacts AI decision-making.

  • Algorithmic Awareness: Students will identify the role of algorithms in their daily digital lives (e.g., social media, search results).

  • Impact Analysis: Students will discuss the real-world consequences of biased technology on different communities.

3. Prompt Engineering Lab (Grades 6–8)

  • Effective Communication: Students will develop iterative prompting techniques to improve the quality and relevance of digital tools.

  • Collaborative Innovation: Students will use AI as a "co-pilot" for brainstorming, outlining, and problem-solving, rather than for final-product generation.

  • Academic Integrity: Students will learn how to properly cite and disclose the use of AI tools in their research and creative projects.

The Change Ready Standard:

Our curriculum is designed by Caroline Jung (M.A. Education) and Ryan Vatanchi (MBA) to meet the specific requirements of the Ontario Ministry of Education’s Language and Technology curricula. At Change Ready Institute, we understand the pressure on educators to integrate emerging technology while maintaining academic integrity. Our workshops are specifically engineered to align with the 2023–2025 Ontario Ministry of Education Curriculum updates, focusing on:

  • Digital Media Literacy: Critical evaluation of AI-generated media.

  • Transferable Skills: Critical thinking, innovation, and digital citizenship.

  • Language & STEM Frameworks: Applying AI as a research and verification tool.

The "Dual-Expert" Pedagogy:

Instructional Excellence with a Parent’s Perspective

Our curriculum is co-designed and delivered by Caroline Jung (M.A. Ed., DBA in Progress) and Ryan Vatanchi (MBA). As Full-Time Faculty members in the Ontario Public College system, we spend our days preparing young adults for the digital workforce.

But our commitment to AI literacy goes deeper than the lecture hall. As parents of children in Grades 1 and 3, we have 'skin in the game.' We see first-hand how the rapid arrival of AI is changing how our children research, create, and learn. We founded Change Ready Junior because we want our children—and yours—to be more than just users of technology; we want them to be critical thinkers who can navigate this new world with confidence and integrity.

Compliance & Safety Standards:

  1. Vetted Educators: As full-time faculty in the Ontario public college system, we maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and academic integrity.

  2. Vulnerable Sector Checks (VSC): All facilitators hold current VSC clearances via Halton Regional Police.

  3. Insurance: Full $2M General Liability Insurance for on-site delivery.

  4. Flexible Delivery: Available for in-class workshops, PA Day professional development, and school assembly presentations.
